If you want to test the rear one quickly, you can take a multimeter and test continuity across the screen from each side and then measure the voltage at the screen. For the rear, you don't need to strip anything down, just put the probe on the heater element on the passenger (left side of the car) and earth it to a bolt where your amplifier is in the boot. With the car running you should see about 14.4v on that side. If you have the voltage there the screen is knackered (as mine was a week or two ago) and if not, then you can start checking the relays, fuses etc.
Remember, these things don't work without the engine running so if you do any checks with only the ignition on, you'll be chasing your tail. That's something I learned a long time ago and spoke to a friend who recently made the same mistake with his BMW.
