Just introducing myself and our new addition to our family.....
My name is Robin. I'm a record producer, songwriter and DJ from the UK, currently based in Moscow, Russia.
For the past 4 years, we have been without a car. I greatly missed driving and the sense of freedom this provides.
It took some 6 months of searching to understand the second hand market here to then finally end up with our 90.
Not only will it help us to explore Russia but is already proving to be a wise choice for the poor roads, which become increasingly worse the further you go out of the city. Winter lasts for the best part of 6 months, with serious snow.
I have already been reading Land Rover Zone extensively to identify issues and to help me to select a sound secondhand vehicle. Thank you all for the knowledge and advice you have already imparted and I hope, in time, I may be able to contribute to help others too.
Nearly 2 months into ownership, my wife and I are totally hooked on our shorty and recognise it will now be with us for the long haul.
There are some things that need addressing - nothing too major, but I intend to get fully stuck in - I will need to - in Russia we don't have the luxury of having so many trustworthy Land Rover specialists at hand.
There is a good LR & off-road community here. The previous owner of our new vehicle is a member and will introduce me on drive/meet days etc. Thankfully, we are in contact and he has already offered tremendous support and advice regarding the car - a big bonus - something, through your forum, I see is a positive trait of Land Rover owners.
I look forward to meeting you all, discussing issues, sharing stories/landy adventures and enjoying the forum.
