Change the engine.

It's a time bomb, in my opinion.

Tick over problem check the idle control valve. It's located near the butterfly on the throttle.

I am so glad I asked for help on the tickover problem thanks to the stupid reply my wife now thinks the engine is going to blow up . My advice too you is keep your opinion to your self next time:mad:

what a christmas arsehole.. the dude says check the idle control valve and you have a go at him for voicing an opinion. ..maybe you should get a new wife if she really is that gullible, my mechanic has a sister i could introduce you to...that way when something else goes wrong you would have a woman on hand to fix it for you..
cheery mismash

This engine is known to be problamatic along with many other engines, I would suggest also the Idle air control valve a good squirt with carb cleaner and it should release a little. Also it might be worth squirting some in you as well ... come on chap its a forum no need to get angry its christmas!;)

Well two fingers at you!!!!

Have you no sense of humour???

I'm sure the people i have helped on line at half-a-dozen other forums over the past 4 years have had more personality.

Chill out it's christmas.

Keep the engine then. We don't care.

In fact, keep the engine and change the car. Then put a new engine in it.
