I have bridgestone dueller hp sport which are nice and smooth on the motorway but I will be swapping to BF Goodrich AT's for a better all round tyre.

With them making such a racket on the motorway you may find it hard to hear yer new 'Sade' cd:lol:

Thanks for the advice guys , did you have any problems with snow ? Also can I put larger tyres to give me extra ground clearance ?

I used to have Pirelli Scorpions on my last Freebie they were good on mways never did much off road but seemed ok for easy stuff.

Got Kuhmos on latestvFreebie - great on mway but not an off road tyre at all

The problem is that you haven't told us what size the wheels are and that has a BIG impact on the tyres available to you.
If you have 17-inch rims then you are restricted to the very limited range of tyres available in that size (tell me about it!) but if you have 15 or 16-inch rims then the world is your lobster.

Falken all terrains for me on 15 inch wheels. 215/80/15, from camskill for 50 quid ish. Not to noisy and hopefully good in this winters weather.

I am having trouble tring to find a tyre that will work off road I have Freelander sport on 18 inch wheels got pirelli scorpion on at min fine on road but not so good off it, anyone any idears ?

I've got conti cross contact m&s on my 18inch rims, good on road and med/light off road duty and snow. I'm going to get a set of 16 inch rims though for off road and winter as you can nearly get a full set for the price of one of the 18 inch tyres.

Yes i was thinking of a set of 16 inch but i have heard you have to be carfull with the off set ?

Wile were on the subject of making the freelander better off road my sport model is lower than a standard freelander I see there are lift kits on eBay and so on, but I worry about putting extra wear on the drive shafts and so on, anyone had any experience with the lift kits ?
