can anyone help pleeeeese!
for the last week or two my freelander has been taking a bit of time to start, then this morning would not start at all, called a guy out to start it,he could only stat it using some easy start, he thought it might be the fuel pump, my feeling is a dodgy injector, i can hear a whirring noise from the pump under the rear wheel arch when i first turn on the ignition then after about 45 secs to a min it goes off can also hear a noise from the front, how can i tell which it is, i`ve heard of a leek test but not being mechanically savvy dont know how to do this, any help and pics as to what to do would be greatly recieved:(

If it starts with easy starts and runs fine but once you switch off does not start again then nearly sure to be a leaking injector. Do a search on the site to find how to test

Had exactly this with my td4 auto. And it was indeed a leaking injector. The engine needs equal pressure on all 4 injectors before it will start. The leaking injector stops the pressure building in that injector, and then it won't start.

It is normal for the fuel pump to cut out after a while when the ignition is turned on, once the fuel line is up to pressure.

thanks booboodag/optimus, will tell garage where its at the info, hope to get it sorted asap, keep you all posted
