Hi guys hope you can help

I have a freelander td4 2001. My wife took it to fill up today and fuel started pouring out underneath. I think she over filled it but have taken up back seats and removed cover to find there appears to be a pipe missing or something. Can anyone help , missing pipe on left hand side of picture. When for a drive while I sat in the back and watched, as we went up and down hills or round shard corners fuel would spill out. Should this be connected to something or have a blank on it ???? Help

Merry christmas

That's the outlet for the fuel burning heater.

If you have a fuel burning heater then there should be a fuel pipe connected to it.

If you don't have a FBH then you can cap it off with no issues.

Thanks for your help. How do I know if I have a FBH ? I don't think I do so hopfully can just cap it off. Don't understand why it's not capped already!

Check in the passenger side wheelarch area and if you have a FBH you'll have an exhaust outlet there.

If you do a search on here for FBH then you'll find photos to help you identify if you have one.

To be honest it won't be working anyway so you may as well cap it anyway to stop the fuel spill
