UK recon suppliers will post 1 to you but it's gong to cost a bit. I don't think we know of anyone doing recons on your side of the pond.

Good luck. I was unable to find any in the US or Canada. Bell Engineering will gladly ship to North America when I last called them.

One option is a low millage wrecker part but I do not recommend it, unless you test the VCU beforehand

Did you do the one wheel up test to determine it was the VCU?

Yeah the thing is I bought the car two wheel drive. It was missing the rear diff but the vcu is there. I plan to buy the rear diff and vcu and prop bearings. Should put a good dent in my wallet haha

Bell + shipping will be much less than a new one and shipping maybe isnt that much after all

Wow driving without a rear differential. I would definitely buy a diff and a rear prop from a scrap yard first or buy a recon from Bell Engineering. I know of two scrap yards for land rovers including freelander in Canada. I would think there would be more in the USA. It was different for me to to business over the phone. Most of these places do not have online catalog of their available parts. In retrospect it make sense, they have the vehicles, they just need to k ow what you want.

I bought a used tank cradle from a Miami Landrover scrapyard without any problems.

$974 dollars for a new VCU ??? ouch! I would buy from Bell Engineering, it was around 375 British sterling pounds for a reconditioned one including shipping to Canada. I would think it the price would be similar. I have not bought mine yet, I am trying to wait as long as I can (I know I know it could cost me huge with IRD and DIff problems)

I talked to Marilyn she was very friendly over the phone.

If it were mine I'd be checking the ird has drive to the front wheels and the rear pinion, before splashing out on vcu's and a rear diff. Would be a shame to spend all that money only to find the previous owner took bit's oft to cure faults on the cheap.
