OK, I have just driven from the UK to Serbia in my Freelander with no trouble at all and many stops on the way. I finally reached Serbia and parked my car outside my place, went to click my alarm/ central locking but no joy ?

I have two plinker plonkers for the car so I just assumed one had used up it's battery from so much use driving accross europe, so tried the other but still no joy, so to be sure I changed teh batteries and still no joy, so I changed the batteries again just to be even more sure, still no joy.

I then thought sod it I will drive to a garage and have them check it out, sat in the car and tried to turn the key and immobilizer does not go off, so could not start it. Yes, I tried the other key too and no I do not have any other keys on it.

Finally I called for a truck to come collect it and take it to the garage, who is a landrover garage (well supposed to be but this is Serbia!!).

So it is in the Garage now but it has been for some days as the mechanics are scratching their heads and do not even actually look inside the car, they just plug it into a computer and them hum and har a while and then get more coffee and a shot of Vodka.

The car has been with them now for 6 days and they still will not tell me what is the matter, nor are they giving me a price which is starting to scare me. At first they said it may be radio interference, which I have read before, but now they are not saying that they are just confussed.

So has anyone ever experienced anything like this or maybe have a clue as to how I can fix it as I have had enough of the "supposed" Landrover Garage.

I know that in the UK if I disabled the immobilizer I most probably would invalidate my insurance, but in this country it makes no difference. so is there a way I can dissable the immobilizer (I also do not have the code for it) so atleast I can drive it for now, even though I cannot unlock the boot now only the drivers side door (which is now the passengers side door as it is now LHD lol).

All I want is my car back :(

Not sure ,but I think the button up high on the passenger side of the engine bay resets the immobilizer. You've probably tried this already,I wouldn't hold my breath but its worth a try.
