I'm new here, first post and hopefullly not my last. However, I am about to buy a new car and I have a new Freelander GS Auto on my short list. I need a car that I can easily get into (hips stop me getting into my current Audi A4 without pain) and the FLander fits that bill. I have had a test drive and liked it so I'm keen but not without worries.
I did own a Freelander back about 8 years or so and before that a Disco.
I need to know if the current Freelander is really reliable. Everything I read says that reliability is poor and I do not want to spend 25k plus on an unreliable car. I do not need 4X4 although it would be nice, but I do like the idea of Land Rover, but at 65 I do not need to get out and under. I want a car that starts and stops and gives no trouble.
My mileage is only about 10k per annum and intend to keep this new car for five years. Servicing will be all main dealer, I just hope they are better than they were 8 years ago.
My dealer tells me that the new car has moved on and because it is now made in Liverpool and not Solihull it is better built, but still I read reliability is an issue.
Can anyone offer any advise, please
