Hi i purchased a set of freelander foglights when i was fitting them on sunday everthing was going ok untill i was putting the front bumper back on the front nearside foglight wouldnt fit ,so my mate moved along the FBH (i think from the haynes manual ) and chopped about 6" of the exhaust tube ,is this ok or will i have problems with the car in the fiture??

please could you be more clear?

what exhaust tube has he cut ???? are the fogs on the front or back as the fog lights are noware near the exhuast.

We are here to help but need a bit more to go on
Mick

he said "front" and he said "FBH".
dunno the answer to his question though.

Cutting the exhaust on the FBH shouldn't cause problems but is the end of it now inside the wheel arch liner?

you'll end up with steam and diesel fumes coming out through all the gaps where the wing is bolted on and maybe being sucked into the cabin through the heater motor - which would not be good unless you like the smell :)

a length of flexi alloy tube jubilee clipped to the end of your sawn off and through the hole in the liner should solve the problem...?

I think the exhaust tube is now cut off inside the wheel arch liner i will check this.
Cheers for the replies ,David

I have exactly the same problem on my 2001MY TD4. Want to fit bumper fogs but FBH is in the way. Can you be a bit more specific about what your mate did?

Did he actually physically move the FBH to another spot? Or did he just cut part of the exhaust off? Or both? If he moved it, to which spot? If chopped exhaust, which bit?

What spotlights do you have- are they genuine LR ones? (I have STC7908's which are quite bulky.)

What year is your F/L?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to be sure about it before I go sawing up/moving this thing!

Thanks
