Help needed last night my 1998 freelander diesel won't start RAC popped out and said that it was the fuel as he had pulled up the seat and checked to see if he could hear it, this morning i pulled the unit from the tank expecting to see a pump but nothing no pump just the sender unit when i checked the wiring althouth it has 4 wires going to there are only two terminals on the unit, so ive now looked in the engine bay and i have a pipe coming from the injector pump to the filter and a pipe ffrom the filter to a bellow and then onto the tank it does disappear up the side of the tank. My question is where is my fuel pump any one come across this before.

you didn't find one cos there ain't one - the Fuel Injection Pump is also the fuel pump - remove the aircleaner assembly and then the cover to see if the belt has snapped if not it's buggered - also check for a blocked filter
