Brilliant! What a security feature, just leave the indicator 'on' when you park, then the engine won't start!

If this is indeed a genuine problem it might be some kind of short, however, i would have expected a short to result in a blown fuse and not a dead engine.

Maybe it is a safety feature for when the bulb has blown - to make sure you don't drive with a blown bulb - have you checked all the bulbs?

When you lock or un-lock the car do all the lights flash?

Does the problem occur with the Hazards too or just indicating?

Do any of the other electrics work when you indicate and kill the engine?

Is this a new problem or did you buy the car like this?
