Hi everyone!
I've been away a long time!
Just wondering if anyone could help me.
I fitted a lift kit in 2014 when I bought the Freelander. I took the car down to my local garage and asked them to check everything was aligned properly and they said it was all fine. 3 or 4 months after that I fitted a set of AT tyres and had very slight rubbing on the O/S front tyre on the inner edge but only on full right lock. Now my front tyres are badly worn on the outer edges and clearly the camber isn't right. I fear this has also damaged the wheel bearings too so I've got a new set to fit. I plan to buy two new matching AT tyres and fit them to the back and swap the rear tyres to the front to ensure the larger diameter tyres are on the rear to protect the rear diff. I've also bought a new set of camber bolts and a camber checking tool and am hoping I can either use my existing camber bolts (fitted in the top hole of the strut) or add the second pair to kick the camber out enough.
So my question is should the camber be set to exactly vertical or should it have a slight positive or negative camber?
