Unfortunately last night on the way home my aux belt pretensioner decided it no longer wanted to hold, this resulted in having to be towed home I would like to replace this myself however i cannot find any information on it, i have been searching all day and have downloaded 6 different manuals to no joy :( I have released the belt from the tensioner however i cannot find were it is bolted from, i know it should be behind the alternator but cannot work out were exactly any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Which freelander do you have? Td4 it's a 30 min job.

I have the TD4 02 plate, i am almost there now, its taken about two hours :/ how have you done it in 30 mins??

Just practice, drop the engine down at that side so you can jack it around helps also. Glad you have got it sorted

In Rave (at least on the L Series) the drive/aux belt is documented under the Electrical section - but there is no instruction on how to remove the tensioner itself.
