hi all, am neew here need a bit of advice. my sister as offered me her 1.8 perol freelander 1999 model. the car is in mint condition in and out but the head gasket as gone and she as been told it is a common fault i dont know anything about landrovers but its only £200. any advice welcome. i dont want to buy a money pit i leave that for my mk2 golf
 
are you technically competant to work on motors that have a lot of electronic controls? If not leave well alone - HGF is a re-occuring problem and gets very expensive.
 
buy it strip it and sell bits on ebay 1.8 gaylanders are notorious
 
Aye, buy it.. strip it and stick it on ebay. Ye'll grt more than 200 notes fur it;)

ther p38 s mate ! well i spose they would fit anythin if yer gorra grinder some self tappers and a 12mm drill bit !

interesting that new convoy sw yer got listed ? int seen a new un! just bort a load of hoses too, yer should o said mate !

Ah've checked on tinternet and can't find P38 handles like them. It was the bottom one in the photie ye looked at? The top one was off me defender;)

That convoy switch ah've got on, ah marked it as used... but it was a new one that had bin kickin' around in a mates tool box (hence the 'scratches' and tarnished bolts) for a bit before ah got it about 3 years back! Still got a couple of more bits and pieces to go on mate;)
TBH, ah forgot ah had it until ah went huntin' fur summit else:doh:
Might have a couple of things ye 'might' want.. or then again, 'might' not;):D
