I bought a lovely car 2 weeks ago ( see picture ) but heres my issue.

I drive it to work ( 5 mins ) and back (5 mins ) everyday
after a week the car wouldnt start. just clicked. i know its had a new starter motor and alternator very recently
so gotta be the battery.
had an auto electrician look at it who told me that the short trips drain the battery which doesnt have chance to recharge during short trips. makes sense!
i paid £200 for a new battery.
my question is if i continue to use my car for work will i need a new battery every 2 weeks?
have i now got a nice car that i cant use?
is there a 'fix' for this or should i accept this isnt the car for me?
any advice would be grately appreciated as i love the car but no good if i cant use it

Find a longer way home
Go for an evening run twice a week
Trickle charge over night
Get a solar charger
Sell it for 2 mars bars and a curly wurly.

Running for 5 mins a day should be fine. Get your auto electrician to check there is nothing draining your battery. Possibly put it on charge overnight once a week to keep it topped up. But get a good quality auto charger

Does it have stop-start-stop (or what ever its called) on it? If so does it cut the engine much during those short trips?

Have been using mine during lockdown for short trips to the local shops not taking 5min have no problems starting battery is 2hrs old

£200 for a battery. Is it full of gold instead of lead?

Do you park the vehicle on a private drive, is it easy enough to plug a charger in, I tend to give mine an optimiser charge once a month, make a regular date like the last Sunday of every month and stick the charger on there for the day, even do it overnight if you use the car during the day, I’ve got a CTEK charger, they are expensive but we’ll worth it and if you get the charger with recondition setting then once a year you can recondition your battery which extends the life of the battery, they even sell a quick charge system so you install a set of connections on your battery terminals and put the battery cover back on, you’re then left with a cable containing a connector that the charger plugs in to so you don’t even need to remove the battery cover, you simply plug it in and switch it on, the CTEK charger is shower proof too so you can leave them outside, I’ve had mine sitting under 6 inch of snow before and it’s been absolutely fine
