Hi all!

I do my best to figure out issues with motors but this has a few of us stumped on where to go next.

Few weeks ago our Freelander 2 TD4 had a little shake when driving which felt like a misfire but came okay. We had a cold morning and drove 3 miles and it cut out. It still starts but misfires very badly. Possible just 2 cylinders.

It also blows out some white smoke out exhaust which smells weird. Doesn't smell like anything I've smelt before.

Coolant light came on which lead me towards head gasket but would it just be fine one day and a bag of crap the next?

Fuel pressure is fine on the rail. Power on all injector plugs. Injectors all firing out fuel. When you disconnect cylinder 4 injector when it's running there is no change to the running of the car at all.

Only fault code is P2562 and P2563. No play in turbo at all and power going to the electronic actuator.

Had a new fuel filter too.

Honestly no idea where to go next so any advice would be fantastic!

Thank you

Steven

When you say Freelander 2 what year is it, or are you referring to FL 1 but the face lift ? if the FL2 2.2 TD4 then check the bottom hose at the front below the starter motor to see if it as a little split etc.
