So my rear wiper stopped working on my 07 freelander 2 a couple f weeks ago. Typically in heavy rain on a motorway. Once home it was extremely difficult tot move to park, and on taking the rear panel off, the motor was very hot. So for safety I pulled the fuse.
Just fitted a replacement, and have stripped the old one to see why it stopped.
The photo speaks for itself, completely rusted solid.

You could probably strip the motor down soak the gear train and it'll work again ...
