hi all just wondering if anyone could help

i started my car in gear the other day and paniced as i was right behind a parked car so ithink i slamed on the brake or turnd the key off qiuckly.

but when i tried to restart the car it wouldnt all i got was a clicking sound like a relay or something, after a few attmpts it finally started an was fine for the rest of the day.
then the next morning i had the same problem only a click until after a few attempts then it starts.
any ideas on what ive done? please

erm................. i was right behind a parked car........ i would of hit it

on a good note tough whatever was wrong it has now rectified itself:D

dunno wot yu have dun - but ALWAYS depress the clutch when starting engine - means yu aint turning over gearbox input shaft and if yu are in gear it avoids the above.

clicking but failing to start can sometimes be down to a flat battery. maybe just had enough to start it, then didn't recharge 'cos you turned it straight off, then didn't have enough oomph to turn it over again.

might be worth firing it up in the morning, then turn it straight off, then try to start it again. pick a weekend so you won't be late for work. better it fails when you have control of the situation outside your house than when you need it most.

alternatively, most garages (inc. kwik sh*t) will test your battery for you.
