On my Freelander series 1 . I have two sensors on my thermostate. My temp gauge is not working so I think I need to replace the bottom one. Does anybody know if both sensors are the same since on only uses on wire? I can only find a listing for one sensor so I was thinking they are both the same.

Also on another note I did the OWUT and got 1 min 30 secs. but in a parking lot you can feel it get real stiff while doing a tight turn. I guess I should just drop the props for now

Yes, probably worth dropping the props Jon. Repairers and legalities of it are on your other thread.

I seem to remember the 1.8 temp sensors are different - 1 is a 1 wire (presumably using the engine as an earth) the other a 2 wire - I may be getting confused with my son's T Series though - or simply making that up :)

The single wire sensor is for the temperature gauge (PN. MEK100130L) it's normally blue or black.
The two wire sensor (PN. MEK100060L) is for ECU temperature monitoring and is normally brown.

The two sensors are completely different internally, hence the colour coding.

Sweet that is what I needed to know
