Hello everyone, just purchased a 2003 freelander TD4 and was wondering if anyone could help with a couple of faults I have found since getting it back.
1. when using the alarm fob to lock and unlock the car it only locks it, it wont unlock the front doors - does unlock the boot door, and you can hear it try to unlock the doors but the pin doesn't pop up...i was thinking solenoid but it seems to work one way - - any ideas
2. the guy i got it off fitted a new fuel pump but now the fuel guage reads backwards - I was thinking he may have plugged the plug the wrong way around but after speaking to him he said it wasnt possible as the plug only fitted one way - is this correct or can i just locate it and swap the wired round
3, now the slightly worring bit - when reving up and changing from 2nd to 3rd there seems to be a clonk every so often from the front feels like its near the pedals, I know the diff mounts can go on these as it has been used to tow (hopeing were not looking at the gearbox) it doesnt seem to do it all the time or when changing between any other gear
finnaly anyone have any advice on things to check / change and upgrade to ensure this lives a long a fun life..
im pretty handy with a spanner and happy to get my hands dirty so anything would be good, already looking into a facelift conversion
im missing my Rangie already - maybe i should have stuck with that
