Hello Guys

Hope all is well..

So I have a bit of a weird issue with my Freelander 1 1.8. On Monday I started getting some issue with the starter and I took it out and took it to a guy to get sorted... Starter is all sorted now. So this morning I decided to quickly put it back in the car and then it started with a weird issue. As soon as the car starts it cuts out immediately.. I then leave it for about 2 minutes and then the same thing happens.. I did remove all the leads from the battery when I removed the starter due to fault finding.

Any advice will be appreciated..

Regards

Check the basics like fuses first. Did you disturb the crank sensor while you were messing with the starter?

Hi Guys

I have bypassed the cut-off switch and no luck... I cant remember bumping the crank sensor or anything like that....

Hi Guys

So I still have an issue with my Landy..
I have checked all the fuses and relays and I have also replaced the crank sensor and still no luck..

Once the car starts it cuts out immediately....

Any new ideas for me to look at?

Hi Nodge

Thanks for your reply...

is there anything I can do to test this?

There's a way to put the ECU and alarm module back in synchronisation, but it needs something like a Hawkeye or other suitable code reader to do it.

This is assuming they are actually out of synchronisation. It could be that the engine ECU isn't getting the run signal, which means there's a break in the data line somewhere.
I think the place to start is the data connections, which includes the dashboard and ABS module, all of which route information around the data bus.

If the engine and immobiliser rolling security code is out of sync then you'll get error code P1672. I had it previously when this happened to my FL1.
