Hello good people. Can any one offer advice on a problem I am having with my 1.8ltr petrol Freelander. I have replaced the solenoid on the starter, and now starts with touching the solenoid tag with a positive link from the battery, but it won't start using the key. The relays are making the right noise, but not getting a feed to the solenoid.

that will be a bad connection on your ignition switch, they are easy to strip and clean ;)

:welcome: btw

Yep mine did the same, easy fix. Now get thyself to ye olde Freelandere sectionne lest thou gettest torne asunder by yon tratterers.

Easy fix if you replace the freelander starter switch with a Defender it will start straight off and you will look cool and other fender drivers will wave at you as you drive past. Peolpe will ask your advise on all maner of things and not just if you reckon that there roots need doing. Leg pulling over welcome to the zone:D

How would you fit a defender next to the steering column and wire up to the existing wires?
