Hi

I’m new to this group and need help please

My freelander 1.8 petrol has been troublesome with starting, also running is feels as though it’s lacking power. My partner changed my spark plugs, air filter etc and the problem was still the same. Then my engine management light appeared so I took it to the garage who had it for a week and told me they couldn’t think why it was problematics so the changed the ignition coil.

The problem is still the same so I took it to an auto electrician to advise me of the code, they informed me it was my fuel filter, I returned it to the garage again they had it for a further week to then be told my car does not have a fuel filter ????

Can someone please help, where is my fuel filter located?

Hi Lilo, there is a fuel filter, it's in the fuel pump housing which in turn can be accessed via an access panel under neath the rear right seat.

I have a 1.8 Freelander 2000, it really sounds like the fuel pump based on my experiences a few years ago. Does yours sound anything like mine as in this YouTube video I filmed from a few years ago when mine stranded me?
