When I was involved in building kitcars, we used to buy the V5 document and the chassis plate, and it was sufficient to register the kitcar with the 'donor' cars registration.

So, I presume that this is a similar thing?
 
a bit of chassis with the id on it is the only part to survive so they scrapped it!

It is illegal to assign another vehicles identity onto a donor vehicle. If the 110 in question has been scrapped then the Log book belongs to DVLA and should be returned to them. putting the id on another vehicle is ringing and illegal
 
scooter lads sell lambretta /vespa frames with matching log books,but all the numbers match ,this is ok,the dodgy part of thisland rover is the vehicle id...

quite a few years ago I was at kettering parts fair,
and I think it was scooter restorations ltd,
had found a supply of brand new unregisterd Indian lambretta bare frames,
all with no id.

how they got round that i dont know,
but they all went, and very expensive too!

just looked at your photos of T5 & old skool lammie skelly.... V - nice..

back to story,
you gotta be carefull just what bargains you can buy out there,
as some go back to there real owners in the end!

cheers yeh lAMY,S AINT CHEAP NOW ,5 TO 6 GRAND FOR SX200..INDIAN FRAMES GO CHEAPER THAN ITALIAN,theirs no way legally i would of thought of getting id for frame with no number ,unless maybe dvla vcan give it a number,from old numbers now not in use..as for price,thats why lammys are getting nicked as much as landy,s at mo...
 
i've just reported the second auction. I sold a geep jago last year for someone it was a kit car and used a mk2 escort running gear, the lock book had been redone so that it was transfered from the escort to a geep jago. That was inbits but because it was tax free plate i got £550 for a pile of scrap
