So I found a freelander that the guy is breaking up for parts, he says it mostly complete but has been in a accident and the front is damaged. So now what parts should I go and get? I need a power window and cable system and a few odds and ends, I was thinking of grabbing the rear drive shaft with vcu attached, possibly the ird, and the little missing trim bits. What else should I grab? Get for spares?
They don't show up for parts here in alberta (canada ) very often, and his prices are reasonable.
Thanks

Not helping me lol. I used to drive old volvos, and when you could find them you grabbed relays as they were expensive and prone to failing, and it was an easy test/fix.
Is there anything that I should grab? Or just get the crap that i need to fix her car?

Hi Rubi. Fellow Canadian here. I would grab the rear diff and IRD. But only for no more then $50 for both. There is no demand for freelander parts on this side of the pond. I see some for sale regularly for around $1000 $1500. What year is it ? If it is post 2004 I would grab the transmission as the reverse piston got the manufacturing defect fixed in the later years. Get the TCM that goes with the automatic transmission. How km on the engine?

The bits that need replacement other then that are the belts thermostat and water pump. All of which I would never buy used.

I haven't seen the car yet just pictures, but it's listed as a 03/04( don't remember). I often see them with blown motors, up for sale, just never being parted out. I guess I'll be grabbing the bits I need to keep her car going/fixed I guess
Thanks
