I recently filled up at Sainsbury's, attracted by the penny a litre difference between them and Shell.
What-a mistake-a to make-a!
Within 300 yards, the Disco had a severe, but intermittent, misfire.
As I was in rush hour traffic, I battled on to my repairer, Simon Services of Wakefield. A call from there to Sainsbury's got me the usual answer of 'It hasn't happened to anyone else, guv' .
Over the past 4 weeks, Simon Services have doggedly traced, found and cured a number of faults, all caused by fuel contamination.
These have included having to have the fuel pump overhauled, the tank drained and cleaned, and finally, a new injector!
I reckon that over the last 4 weeks, I'm about a grand down in parts and labour!
So, from now on, it's Shell, BP or nothing, and Jamie Oliver and Sainsbury's can stick their fuel where the monkey stuffed the nut!

funnily enough,i always fuel up at sainsburys(nectar points for mum) and can honestly say that ive never once had a problem...

some guy told me this too wen i went ta pick up dog guard fa me disco, he said morrisons, supermarket fuel though en it ?

I have been running diesels for about 15 years now and have never had this problem, not saying that it's bollix, just diesel's is diesel and what ever crap, water etc.... might be in it as long as your filters are OK they should sort it out!

If you have ever worked at kingbury fuel depot you would notice a que of tesco sainsburys morrisons and many other tankers all waiting to fill of the same bp storage tanks!
