Question......

Does Hot Brakes + Fording = warped discs?

My brakes seem to be noisy since my last outing, and movement in the brake pedal when light to moderate braking.

Was the water muddy? You could have all sorts of muck in and around the pads making the noise. Some of the water could also get past you caliper piston seals (particularly if the pistons are beginning to flake) and this would mean water in your brake fluid.

I think a clean up and a bleed would be a good place to start.

I would start by taking the disc guards off and check if there isnt anything trapped there
