Some fooker with a fake number plate came round the one way sytem the wrong way, pushed me into the car behind and fooked off.

Got his number and when the police arrived (by coincidence, very timely thank God) they ran the plates, which I managed to write down in a hurry and they dont exist, FFS!

Luckily I was in the classic and it did fook all other the break a little plastic of my back light but the classic smashed the headlight on the 2010 astra it hit and put a little dent in the bonnet  gonna be pain in my wallet!

Any ideas on what a 2010 astra healight costs guys???

Police are looking for the offender now, number plate is s361 nrx if you see it, it looked like an older blue escort or fiesta but it was very quick and I was keener on writing down the number plate, fook all good it did me

Great fookin end to the week FFS:eek:

:violent:

Not your fault, so why should you pay? Let the Astra claim off their insurance, the light is probably an arm and a leg!

The old bill will be able to do a variation search. If the registration number you recorded came back as 'NO TRACE' then it is likely that you have recorded it wrong, hoever if the answer came back as another vehicle then yes, false plate/ringed vehicle. Do not despair if they do their job proper, then can search using Part registration, vehicle make. colour.Post code ect ect. Once located then there is of course finding evidence.....E.G. Who was driving and all that mallarky but anyway good luck.

They can only do a partial search on 3 of the missing didgits replacing with a & or * with make colour.. but its getting the missing blanks part correct ?

no proof its not my fault that I hit them, would pay cash and get it sorted with out using my insurance, no claimes etc. what we reckon for the light then , £200,£400?

Police just rang and they say that they cant do anything becuase they cant tell who it is and insurance will have to sort it.

trouble is the astra was owned by the dealer so I can see this getting pricey!

You are too easy going, I'd tell them to get stuffed and try to prove liability if they think they can.

thanks guys, it would have been nice to do a runner but not realistic, I would be the only person the police have ever caught knowing my luck

thing is I just wanted it sorted without fookin my unblemished driving record so cash to the owner (dealership) is the way to go, they have agreed in principal but want to inspect it first, will hear on monday-another wekend fooked FFS.

anyway I am just glad I was not in my bmw as I would have had it much worse!

nah, then you have years of them arguing with a suspended no claimes and the fact the claim is recorded means I will have more expnsive insurance for years.

fett - ring halfrauds - they can look up the astra (do yu have reg no?) and give yu a price - wud give yu an idea...

The fact is the accident has been reported to the Police, it was not your fault, no one injured, no need to involve insurance, tell them to take it to the small claims court if they think they have a case. It's not your liability. No way I would pay out in a case like that.

well they dont have it listed but the back units are £212 for the pair.

So I would conclude form that I am looking at £300 for one front cluster if I am lucky.

Fookin modern plastic flashy ****e, what was ring with ring 7" for £23 a pair!

data, depending on the cost it proabably isnt worth it.

if they try and charge me a grand then i might but if its a few hundred quid it would cost me that with my excess and next years price hike in insuarnce premium let alone the following years.
