02 td5, fob got wet around Wednesday, went to unlock car this morning and nothing although red led still lighting up, opened door with key and alarm went off, tried key in ignition alarm still sounding, shut door and locked door on key alarm stopped, enter eka code which allowed my to drive, came back home, locked car using key, went back to car about an hour layer, still wont unlock from fob, used key, alarm didn't go off and engine starts fine, I was under the impression once you have entered eka and stopped engine and locked car if you wanted to drive and open car without alarm or immobiliser kicking in you would have to enter eka again, was just about to book in to indie dealer for new fob n code at £180 but if I can just use key to manually unlock and drive ill just leave it like that,
thanks for any help/advise you can give

Water and electronics do not mix, do you not have a second FOB? Otherwise, you could be in for a new FOB.

No only got 1 with it when I bought it, not sure its a good or bad thing that I'm not having to enter eka again as i thought once you have entered eka and stopped engine and locked up, after 20 secs if you wanted to drive again you would have to enter eka agin but i have left car for an hour and unlocked with key and driven without entering eka again

I don't know on the Disco, on the P38, EKA can be turned off.
You could put the FOB somewhere warm to dry out the internals with the battery cover off & battery removed. I don't hold out much hope as you have been operating it but worth a try.

it seems that the fob lost only the lock/unlock capability and the alarm is set to "disarm with key if locked with key" mode and it's still comunicating with the remobilisation exciter coil... it can work this way for a while but if the fob degrades further and not work with the remobilisation coil either you'll need EKA all the time

to get cheaper fob see this Land Rover Discovery II Key Fob Programming Services
