My oil light now comes on more or less straight after start up and tickover. It used to come on when the truck had warmed up on a decent drive and flicker when on tickover but go off when slightly revved or driving.

I read that it was more than likely the achilies heal of the 200tdi engine being the cam bearings??

However someone has mentioned that it could be a worn oil pump?

All I know is that it has oil in it and the breather pipe from the Cyclone breather has a constant oil mist coming out from suspected very worn piston rings.

I am pulling this engine out as soon as my second engine is rebuilt however I want to have the current block back to near new some time next year wether it needs reboring and daft stuff like that.

When engine out, remove the inspection plates from the inj pump side of the block and with a torch it is possible to see if the bearing has moved.
