Hi all. Have a problem with the starter motor relay on my FL2. Put fob in socket - clutch depressed - start button pressed - nothing - no sound - no clicks. Lift bonnet pull out starter relay clean terminals spray w Servisol and socket put relay back in and move up and down - try to start and success. New battery installed recently and reading 12.4 to 12.8 volts depending on use. Have tried another 2nd hand relay and same prob - new relay on order and here on Wednesday. Beginning to think the fault may be deeper than the relay fusebox holder socket. or relay. Once car starts and go shopping go back to car and same again - won't start. So bonnet up!! Any suggestions much appreciated. Remo337

What year is you FL2 TD4 or petrol, does it have the extra earth lead fitted from the battery to the bolt on the starter, it could be the starter if so easy fix costing about £15 new contacts and plunger.

Sounds more like the starter contacts to me. I've just changed mine as a precaution, while the starter is out for other work.
