Hi all newbie here I have an 07 freelander 2 td4 I have an immobiliser problem if I take the key out of the Dock the car won't start I have to disconnect the battery before it will start but if I leave the key in it will start has anybody any suggestions thanks

No I haven't there are no warning lights on the dash
You don't always get a warning on the dash. This is going to be a difficult fault to solve unless someone who comes across this fred, has seen the problem before. You can buy yer own device to read the codes. I would guess there will be a code generated at the point the car needs to power cycle to start again.

Thanks for the reply my mate has a good code reader will.get it plugged in cheers
I would guess that the steering lock assembly has an issue. If the steering lock doesn't retract properly, then the ignition won't come on. This condition doesn't always put a warning on the dash either.
Get a full systems code read done, and post the results on.

I have codes B10A2-00 P125987 immobiliser to powertrain signal error don't know if its key or the immobiliser itself
Have you tried the other fob?
The vehicle doesn't have an immobiliser as such, the key has to be recognised by several modules in order for the engine to start. Check all the electrical connections on the key dock, Ipack, engine ECM and abs module, as for part of the immobiliser.

It's sensible to get another fob, as if you loose or damage the only fob, you'll be stuffed.
And to do that it´s quite easy.
I just did that using Maxi AP200 and the corresponding app on my phone.
Took just a few minutes and worked without any problems
