Hello all.
As it goes I do a full service of filters an engine oil every April. Even though I only do 4/5000 mls a year, if that. Looking online, My usual 5w40 fully synth Shell stuff is coming out at £38.00 .

That said, Halfords do a 5w40..f/synth code 285654. for diesels at £26.00. Claiming to match the performance of the other manufactures??

Is this realistic?
Welcome all replies on this.

Thanks for your time..

Hi

You can put 10w40 is cheaper than 5w40. The only problem is that you need 6 liters of oil !

Regards.

Any modern 5w40 synthetic far exceeds the oil originally specified for the engine, so even a cheaper Halfords oil would be fine.

As always. Thanks for your prompt replies.
As its once a year I dont mind putting some decent oil in it, but always open to advice.
Cheers.

Thanks all.
Im going with the Halfords oil. That way I dont have to stay waiting for a delivery .

Thanks all.
