hi guys

just been informed my FL1 needs a new clutch. Sourced a clutch inc fly wheel and CSC for £245.
They also said i need a new clutch pedal switch. What is this and does it have a proper name and part number. Also, what does it do?

Thanks in advance

Clutch pedal switch is used by the engine management for surge damping during gear changes

To be honest it will probably make no difference to the drivability of the car if it isn't working.

They can be reset rather then replace which is what I'd do first

Sounds dodgy to me - sorry - why the new flywheel ? Brun - also why the pedal switch - // there are very very very few places that can diagnose a complete set of issues such as you describe. It sounds like a set of John Wayne types covering their bases and ass. - I might try another place first.

also, is the price just for components - ? I really hope that that is not a fitted price as it sounds far too cheap. !
Use only quality OEM components on the clutch - nothing less - your issue does NOT sound like a clutch issue per se - it sounds like an hydraulic issue. - ON the TurdD4 it is obviously worth changing the clutch - at least the driven plate - as it is a gearbox out for the slave hydraulic cylinder.
Personally I would go the whole hog and replace the complete clutch assembly.
