I had a cable snap in the tailgate mechanism. Bought a new whole regulator WITHOUT a new motor. Attached the old motor to the new regulator system but the window still isn’t moving at all. U can hear the motor is working though, which is strange. Any ideas please??

If the motor isn't turning the winding drum while the motor is running, suggest the motor worm gear has stripped. This doesn't happen often, but can if the motor has been operated when the cables are all tangled up.
