i bought my p38 2 weeks ago now ...
met the seller at his work , paid the remainding balance , did the paperwork , went taking the hire car back , got a cab back to the guys works .....
realised i had managed to lose the key
probobly left in the taxi
so , 30 minutes into ownership , my first disaster ...
luckily , someone else at his works had locked the keys in , and AAA was allready on the scene .
$50.00 and 3 minutes later , i was in
this left me with only a worn-out key which had been used as the spare .
i bought a key in good condition off ebay for $30.00 and swapped out the spring and button to operate the "switch-blade" key , the buttons , and the battery .
i now had a working key , with buttons and everything !!!
alas , it only lasted a week , then it fell apart in my hand while wrestling with the steering lock .
should have been a simple fix , by superglue-ing the twon halves back together ..... but i had somehow managed to break on of the buttons on the pcb .
it fell apart , and the little bit of rubber was lost ...
now heres my ghetto fix .....
i got a nail on cable clip used for fastening twin-and-earth to walls etc.
cut the heads off one of the small nails .
pushed this into the backside of the rubber button pad .
it was just long enough to make a contact with the switch on the pcb .
hey viola , working again
