Got some 2005 19" 6 spoke alloys to go on my sisters L322 2012 autobiography which currently has 20" (she finds the ride too hard). So I commenced this on the drive in storm Dennis yesterday only to discover I couldn't get the nuts back on. I take it that at some point they changed the size, so do I just need new (2005) nuts or is there anything else that's different too?

As I have a 2002 L322, perhaps putting the autobiography wheels on mine and then using my nuts, fit the 2005 wheels to the 2012 car.?

@Uplift before making the ride horrendous , and falling out of love completely with your L322, did you ever sort your welder issue? If not have a look in Regional LZers, you might find someone who can point you in the right direction.
 
Gold rover, you think 20" too hard? That's what potentially are going on mine, although I think 19" are the way as much cheaper tyres and these ones I got my sister were a bargain and I wish I'd kept them for myself!

Is there a page with all the factory 19" offerings that were available? I like originality..

Re welder I think I've found one Huddersfield way, going for a price this week. Came recommended by someone in a classic car club I'm in. Took the plastic sill off the other day...lots of brown chunks fell out...

In fact further update on the welding, just got a quote. Both sills (lots of holes all the way down) and up on visible metal on rear arch where the back doors open. £250-300. I will have to then get it painted but I'm pretty happy with that. That is butt welded, proper plates made.

For a laugh I asked a dealer how much for LR panel. £1500 plus vat each side...
 
See if you can get some pictures for the peeps on here, it may give others some confidence as it all goes well for you. ;)
 
That sounds good, I Imagine somebody will make repair sections at some stage, sooner the better for some poor owners.
I have been thinking of late , that this would be a money maker, for someone with the skills.
I have been lucky so far , that my bit that needed welding wasn't massive. Mainly because I am quick to get things done, as soon as the smallest issue arises. However, I don't have x-ray eyes , and am rarely under the Golden Girl, since my local, generic, indy retired. Leaving me thinking I must go and speak to my new, local, generic, indy , and be nice to him, maybe buy him coffee and cake. I haven't spoken to him much, as I had my guy, soooooo not sure if he'll be a coffee and cake man. Maybe , just casually strike up a conversation about the Volvo estate he has lying around, acting as a storage shed
Oooops gone off track. As I was saying , making replacement panels is going to be a money maker for someone.
 
Lots of rotten sills out there, but at this stage are there enough people wanting to spend money on these cars? I reckon still a couple of years off.

Look around you. Not just this site but others too. We have been spending money on these cars for years.
I tend to think we are the tip of the iceberg, as a lot of people who work on their own cars, know how to do the job and rarely come knocking. We are just lucky that a few of them found there way here, then got locked in ;)

I've put a few of these up now and the sills video will hopefully be the next one. Back from welders now, awaiting bodyshop..
