I have bought a new key fob for my 2004 TD5, the oval two button one, and fitted my old circuit board and new battery OK. I have cut the key blade out of the old fob but I am left with a key sized blade and a big hole in the fob.

Should I fill the hole with araldite, shove the key in and tidy up around it or is there something special to fill the hole with. The key has a small pin through it to stop pulling out.

That blade is missing the plastic part which fits into that slot in the fob, that pin was supposed to fix the plastic there, see the pic HERE and you'll see what i mean

Thanks sierrafery. It looks like I have cut too much off the key blade.

Does the blade and plastic attachment just pull out from the end of the fob? I have two perished fobs and two replacements so I could use the key blade from the second fob.

It looks like I will have to bodge one of the fobs with araldite then.
