Anybody have any ideas how to fit a stereo/mp3 player to an old 1974 landrover? It currently has the following kit ......................................NONE! , so i guess i'd need a head unit and speakers, but how do i power/fit it?

most of the staff in halfords don't even know which end of a screwdriver to use!,i wouldn't go there.

First thing is yours negative earth ?
Good place to mount it is up in the roof are above the rear view mirror, its then more or less out of sight of tea leafs:eek:
There are a view pods that fit up that area. just mount the unit in that.
Then you'll have to decide about speakers how many, how big. Wiring diagram comes with stereo unit. Power source will depend on if you want it to go off with ign. HTSH

The traditional method is to bungey a Roberts radio to the bulkhead between the front seats.

Its a 1974 so i think it'd be negative but need to check when i pick it up - is it a problem if its not?

Where do you recommend getting a pod from? i like the idea of above the rear view mirror - i'd only need a couple of speakers under the seats probably and yeah i would want it to go on/off with the ignition

not much then eh?

might be able to adapt the surround they used in the defender,
probably not a good position for speakers on a landy
suggest up on roof rails behind seats , if pos earth , yes a problem, otherwise straight forward fitting. :)

karmon hardon.JPGThis is the easiest way, it's quite handy cos you can remove the stereo unit and have it washed with yer jacket, can't you Myrtle.
