Hi, just fitted a front Salisbury axle. However, when I tried to fit the front prop shaft from the transfer box to the front diff I appear to be a couple of cm short.
The prop shaft is the shorter one which came with the unit. My old front prop shaft is too long which was originally on the vehicle
Has anyone come across this before?
The only way round it that I can see is to fit a spacer unless anyone knows different on here.

what engine is it, a 300tdi or 200?good chance the salisbury came off a v8 armoured 110 if so the prop will be short (ive learnt this buying salisburys from ireland

as said the armoured are v8 and transfer box sits 2" further forward as does 300 tdi the ptoprs are the same as v8,200 and before have longer front prop,

Mine is a 200tdi. From the flange of the diff to the flange of the Transfer box is 62/63cm
My prop is 61 when extended to max.

Hi Pressbrake. mine is a 200tdi. How did you get round yours? I'm trying to find out if they do a prop shaft for a 200tdi.
Either that or I will have a spacer machined up for it

Seems the prop shaft I have is off a V8 which is shorter. For a 200tdi the prop shaft off a Series III is the one that will fit. I need one that is about 61CM
The V8 is about 58cm. 300tdi is 60cm. I'm talking Salisbury prop shafts here not the standard ones normally fitted.

I will know for sure when the Series III Sailsbury prop shaft arrives next week but over the phone the measurements appear correct
