as description suggests, ive fitted a snorkel and de cat and de egr my fuel economy seems to have got worse. so my question is would the snorkel make that much differance to fuel economy, so much so that the de cat and egr would not counter act the fall in mpg any other ways to get more mpg out of my disco its a 300tdi

snorkel shouldnt make any differance.all youv`e done is put a longer feed on.
when i decated my 300tdi didnt notice any diff.somtimes you have to re tune.
the 200tdi aint got cat or egr on so......

I'd check you've fitted the snorkel correctly and not got a too tight bend in any flexi tube restricting airflow. Check air filter.

If you've de-catted you might need to adjust the fuelling a little, search the forum there's a number of threads with pictures on how to do this. What have you decatted with? A straight through pipe should be fine ...

When I did mine it only affected the mpg inasmuch as I loved the slight extra ooomph and the much smoother pickup .. so put my foot down more often than before. Now I'm used to it again it gets slightly better fuel consumption than before, especially on long runs at steady throttle openings.

land rovers aint meant to get gd mpg that y there a luxury to own,it weighs 2 ton plus sum and not overly powerful so mpg aint goin be great

Are you sure you're not doing the usual, woo hoo I've tuned it so I'll drive it harder? Then the mpg goes down, but once the novelty wears off it goes back to normal? A slight tweak to the pump is worthwhile:)

you might be right i have been driving slightly harder than normal as it sounds cool haha, but i didnt think i was driving that much harder than normal maybe i will do the fueling adjustment and see what happens, all the pipe work for the snorkel is solid pipe the only flexi hose it the join on the inner wing and thats strait the de cat is a strait through pipe

you don't need to drive em much harder to notice the dent in your pocket... the difference between sitting between 55 and 60 compared to doing 70 is noticeable! As is keeping the revs down round town compared to hammering it to get through the lights before they change... I should know... I commute 100 miles to and round london every few days!

Eh... I have done the same de EGR de cat and have a snorkel. On my run up to Scotland I was getting 37mpg at 70mph and about 33mpg around town. im not complaining its good for a car with the aerodynamics of a house that weighs in at 2ton.
