It does not matter about the collar as it is the means by which you set the advance . You put the dizzy in after setting the engine to tdc on number one Then put the dizzy in so that the rotor arm is pointing at the point where the outlet to number one lead fits the cap, you then rotate the body of the dizzy until the points are just about to open. This gives you a rough setting of the firing point you then need to set the timimg either by the static method or dynamic if you have a timing light HTSH :)
