Hello! I'm Andrew and i've just gone halves with my mate for my first Land Rover - a Discovery 200TDI.

I've never driven or owned an off road vehicle before, so it's all about the experience and learning for me. My friend has done some off-roading in a Jimny, but it's his first Land Rover too.

It's got 12 months MOT and has only dripped in one place onto the driveway so far, so things are looking good!

First issue is to work out why all the lights are extremely dim, but flicker madly! I think there's a bad earth somewhere on the interior loom? It seems to brighten up when the handbrake is applied too, which is interesting...

Anyway, we'll be looking to get in on any Warwickshire meets in the near future, so hello!

Do you know you have poo on your numberplate !

Hello! from a fellow D1 owner:)

Which half do you get?
Hopefully the half without the leak and without the dodgy earth :Dthat's the bit I'd want, anyway

@andrew_baran - your headlights will be earthing thru the handbrake circuit - it is, as you say, most likely an earth fault - and almost normal for its age - ( ask me how I know this :D) - clean them all - you'll find it... somewhere;)

It's worse than that - It's PDO! The less said about that the better, to be honest... Though it has given the car an amusing nickname nonetheless.

I'm going for the half with the least rust! Even if it is the leaky badly earthed half! I'm way out of my comfort zone in the rust department...
