Afternoon petrol but mostly Diesel heads.
My name is David and I am a car mechanic of 13 years. I have had all manner of cars from triumphs to Saabs to a free E46 converible from a customer.
My current fleet is:
  • .93 Saab 900 Turbo Ruby edition
  • .87 Volvo 760 V6
  • .05 BMW 325CI
  • .08 Saab 9-5 estate
  • And now I have a P38....
I have gone through 6 midlife crisis, and I'm only 30! I want to combine a new project car with my first V8. I remembered a while back my boss missing an opportunity to buy a really early p38 and regretting ever since. As a mechanic, I wanted a good body with little to no rust, a late car but with plenty to fix.

I paid £1650 for my Oslo blue 2001 vogue. Many electrical faults which were mostly fuses, cruise control had a split hose, matrix O-rings were weeping, sunroof doesn't slide back, some speakers don't work, sat nav PXL_20220507_190320001.PORTRAIT.jpg screen is busted but I don't care about that one. And to top it all off, some tit decided to cut the cats out along with the Lambda senors and replace them with over sized Flexi sections! So I had four downpipe blows and the engine was running really rich!
Most of this is now sorted but I'll need your help with a few bits to come.

Kind regards David.

Hello and welcome to loonyzone:)
The good thing about p38's is they don't suffer much from the old tin worm and everything else is just nuts and bolts:)

Lovely looking P38 David, and it sounds like you're well prepared for the joys of ownership with 13 years as a 'canic.
Welcome to Landyzone!
