My 1kg dry powder fire extinguisher has been unmounted and bouncing around like a time bomb in the 110 for over 6 months now, so I'm finally gonna secure the fecker.

Just spend 10 minutes trying to decide where to mount it, float positioning and tilting head like a royal gaylanding artist at a Clean Wheels exhibit...of fire extinguishers. But alas, I can't decide on the best position.

Current contenders:

  1. Vertical on left side of passenger footwell. Means drilling into bulkhead.
  2. Horizontal on front or rear of cubby box. Front means it'll be in the sun (label says that it shouldn't be exposed to more than 60 C, so not sure if Landy interior temp is near this tolerance).
  3. Horizontal under drivers seat.
Where have you placed yours, huh?

If you don't want to drill your bulkhead, have you thought of magnets?

I've got some off ebay, 20mm diameter and 2mm thick, and they hold 8lbs each :O I've got them in my landy too, to hold stuff in place. the shop is called guysmagnets or something.

I use them all the time in work for picking up flange plates that are flush with no way of picking them up etc, super handy!

Cheers,
Tom

Mine is position number 1.

You want it somewhere you can reach it quickly but also somewhere that's it's not in the way. Also, not high up such that in an accident it smacks you in the head. I think I did toy with the idea of driver side footwell but couldn't find a place that it wouldn't be in the way. I don't have a cubby box so didn't have that option.

Sounds great. Would you happen to have an ebay link please?

The army mount theres on the passenger footwell. I moved my one though from the footwell to the bulkhead behind my cubby box as the mrs complained that it was in her way.

Although its empty you can see the bracket in the original army position on the floor
