I need the fir tree fixings for my front door cards. I found gray ones on Breamarch, I want black. I've found plenty on ebay too. But what size do I need and are they the same ones as used to fix the roof lining in?

Also. My wife struggles a bit getting in (rock sliders). I've seen handles that fit the door pillars, but are they strong enough with those little screws, to heave ones self in with?

I would not trust the a handle attached to the door pillar to be up to the job for getting in and out. I am assuming you have a new one with the "upgraded" dash as the proper ones already have a passenger handle fitted on the dash end (see pic below form google). Can you not just use the door pillar itself or the windscreen hinge? I use the door pillar personally, and only realised when I noticed clean fingerprint patches on the edge of the windscreen where I had rubbed off the mud!

Thanks, My car is actually a 1993 90 rechassied 200Tdi. It has the dash handle, but I was wondering if the handles plased on the screen pillar could actualy be used. I actually use the screen pillar to get in, but am concerned that the door only has to swing a bit and it'll come off it's stop and could shut onto ones hand.

Definitly a legitimate concern as getting your hand trapped in a car door is not a fun expirience. However do not think I have ever managed to do that with my Land Rover. But I have series doors fitted to mine which are smaller and lighter than the originals so this may be why.

You could always modify a side step to fit the sliders. I've done this for the same reasons as you want a grab handle, and it works a treat - just remember to remind Her to fold it up if going Knarly. If it's Extremely Knarly, it doesn't take long to remove completely (with a spanner, as opposed to a passing rock), although She may demand a "leg up" if you do. o_O
