Hi all,
Been on the lookout for a defender for the most of a year now. Missed a couple of good ones due to bad timing on my behalf.
Thanks for the help so far on the forum. Only downside is admiral are saying its a van and won't switch over my insurance so going with Adrian Flux today hopefully, all being well.

Swivel ball seal to replace on passenger side, its leaking oil, first job on the list. The guy took the centre out and put in a centre cubby console like this one LAND ROVER DEFENDER CENTRE GREY VINYL/TECHNO CUBBY BOX | eBay

although he hasnt it bolted down or anything, have to do that as well, if its too much hassle ill just put the middle seat back into it as he gave me that as well.

Should the steering be overly heavy in this? Seems heavier than it should be anyway...

So here she is 1996 County 300tdi with a new galvanised chassis.

Looks really smart, congratulations.

No, the steering shouldn't be overly heavy, yes slow, but not heavy. Double check the fluid level.

As for the swivel, you could be lazy and just put one shot grease in it I think.

Thanks for your advice before hand :D

Looking good.

Is that a bit of paint trouble on the nearside rear wing and back door?
