Hey guys,

First off im new here, so hello!
I am new to green laning, me and a friend are looking to get a 4x4 of some sort to have a little fun with at weekends and evenings. I have been looking at the trailwise maps to find some tracks to go and try and some tracks are marked in different colours. I have searched but I can't find out what the different colours mean. Can anyone help?
Also, we have been driving about, scouting out lanes that are marked as BOAT's on the map but some of them have locked gates across them, whats the deal with that?
We are in Dunstable and by the looks of it there are lots of lanes about.

Thanks,
Edd

you mean this?

It seems that unless you have signed up and added data - the info is very limited.

Yeah, thats the one. Sorry I should have put a link.
The info is ok, but if the colours are significant I don't want to do down a lane when is it shut for the season or something.

My friend and I have been marking out lanes from there on our map and driving round to see if they are do-able. A lot are gated, have restrictions or we simply can't find the entrances but a few look do-able and there are tyre marks down them but it looks like there are mounds there to stop people going down them. They look great fun, but I want to be on the right side of the law.

hey Edd there are loads of us around dunstable bedfordshire hertfordshire we are having a pub meet tonight but its a few miles away we know all the local lanes myself spyderman, Classickev, Ryder are all very active in and around the area pm me for pub meet details you are welcome to come out with us any time check out Hertfordshire green lane section Jai

You don't have to be a member to get lots of useful info ... for the map colours use the Overlay Key button ... ;)

Being a member does give more up to date info, especially if TRO's come into force or whether a lane is blocked for any other reason.
