Hi All,

I have a single point lpg system, I have an Emmergas (or something like that) vaporiser which I think is faulty.

Now a guy has quoted me £200.00 to fit a new one, but I can get one cheaper off ebay.

I would be happy to change it myself but have been told I would need a computer to set it up.

1. Can anyone confirm this

2. Has anyone got a step by step guide to fitting one and setting one up.

In my honest opinion id always have a registered LPG technician do all the work on it as its not worth the risk, may cost you £100 off ebay or something but you don't have the guarantee
 
Fair point, will get it booked in as soon as. Bloody thing drives me mad, one day runs fine, next day engine struggles like mad on lpg. Don't know why im complaining its not the first time this has happened lol.

No problem, LPG is brilliant when its been setup properly
 
Before you do that, why not strip the old unit and check for the diaphragm being punctured or just dirt in there?

LPG is a 'dirty' gas with a gooey residue that can clog valves up.

On our D2 with multipoint LPG, I strip and clean the valve blocks every six months, just use WD-40 or White Spirit and assemble dry.

The gas valve at the front in your picture is replaceable by itself, diaphragm kits should be available, and fit a gas filter between the vapouriser and the engine to keep cr*p out of the injector ring.
